The swift-flowing stream plunging down the slope of the hill in multiple steps will leave you enchanted. One of those hidden gems of western ghats that has remained unexplored. The trail to the falls is very beautiful along the stream as if going through a magical land. With a population of 293, the village of Hosgod is located in Karnataka’s Uttara Kannada district. The populations of men and women are 151 and 142, respectively. The area is 9.72 square kilometers in size.

Hosgod Falls is an eight-tiered waterfall that rises roughly 700 feet in height. If you have a two-wheeler, it will only take 20 to 30 minutes to walk from the final parking spot or last residence; otherwise, it would take about 6 to 7 kilometers. Even during monsoons, it is simple to view the falls. However, getting to the top of the falls may be more challenging.

While it is possible to see all eight tiers of a waterfall from the base, where one may also enjoy playing in or swimming in the waters, it is always exciting and wonderful to climb to the top of any waterfall, which enhances the experience and makes a trip to any waterfall even more unforgettable.

Out of the eight, the third layer was the best and most beautiful. People/villagers at the top of the falls refer to it as Medni Falls, whereas those at the base of the falls refer to it as Hosgod Falls. Nearby tourist places include Gokarna, Murudeshwar, Mirjan Fort Yana, and many others. If you want to get lost in the beauty of nature, Hosgod falls is a must-visit. Do not miss the chance to visit it at least once.
